Just getting started in genealogy? Been researching for awhile but find your self stuck? Unsure of where to turn to answer your genealogical questions? It can all seem like a maze you can’t find your way through.
Maybe a consultation with me can help. Sometimes we all need a guidepost.
For those interested, I provide 25 minutes of phone (or Zoom) consultation, not including the time it takes you to describe your problem and provide some background.
This is a great fit for the many readers who have contacted me and need very specific help.
I am not doing all of the research for you; but I will research your problem, and provide you with specific guidance on where to go next and what kinds of sources might contain the answers you seek.
Once payment is processed, you will automatically be sent a link via email to download a Questionnaire (be sure to check your spam folder). You can send the form back to me at email@example.com when it is complete.
Answering this questionnaire will allow me to utilize the time most efficiently. Please state what you need in question form. Some examples are:
- **I cannot locate the marriage record for my ancestor John and Mary Little and Mary who lived in Frederick County, Maryland in the early 1900s. How else can I discover her maiden name?
- **I’m searching for any siblings of my great-grandmother Tessa Richards who lived in Duval County, Florida in the 1920s.
- **I can’t find my great grandfather William Decarts, who had wife Elizabeth, in Halifax County, North Carolina after the 1880 census.
Once you return the form, I will work on your questions and contact you within a few weeks to arrange a time to discuss the research guidance I have prepared for you. I typically work on consultations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8pm.
Hopefully the suggestions can serve as a roadmap to invigorate your genealogical research and put you on a path to even bigger and better discoveries!
Of course, due to the nature of genealogy, I can never guarantee the outcome of the guidance I provide. But at least it will get you moving in the right direction, and I have attempted to price the service so that is more widely accessible to everyday researchers.
Know that at every step of the way, the ancestors are with us!
